As reported by the American Hypnosis Association, hypnosis research has been shown to be highly effective in helping students from various ages and educational backgrounds, including: stress and test anxiety (medical residents), exam anxiety/scholastic performance (middle school students), exam anxiety/academic achievement (college students), academic performance (university graduate students), academic self-efficacy (first generation college students), exam stress (medical students), exam stress (medical students using self-hypnosis), learning foreign languages (high school students), increase confidence and school performance (teenagers).
And as early as the 1970’s, hypnosis has been shown to help students with disabilities relax and do better in tests. The Journal of Special Education published an article in 1970 that showed how hypnosis improved academic achievement, and this same article cited studies conducted in the early 1960’s that proved hypnosis improves academic performance.
