Why the “Barefoot Ministries?
Wherever we walk, we leave some kind of mark; some form of a footprint. And more often than not, we try to hide the real us, the footprints we leave by wearing something to either hide or change the impression we leave behind.
But when we are barefoot, there is nothing we can leave in our wake but the real us; it’s the true impression of the real us. We get an accurate feeling about the ground where we walk, and by being barefoot we understand that walking can hurt; in this journey called life, sometimes the process of simply taking another step hurts. And we would like nothing more than to protect our feet so we don’t have to feel the rough surface that can cut into our soles (souls?).
However, walking barefoot is the most honest way we can appreciate and honor the ground that holds and supports us. And so we hurt. And we heal. We walk alongside others in their journey, knowing there are times we might be asked to gently push them along. And there will be times where we need a gentle nudge. But by walking together, we can help each other in ways we might not have previously considered. To that end, our mission is to comfort those who are hurting and to support those who are struggling.
Our mission is to share the gifts we have been given in hopes of bringing about healing to anyone who is in need, regardless of financial status, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, sexual orientation or identity, citizenship, or disability.
